Chelsea manager Graham Potter spoke about Joao Felix to Rio Ferdinand before their trip to West Ham. The former Manchester United player explained what Graham Potter told him about Felix. Potter gave an insight into Chelsea’s new signing before their trip to West Ham. Felix got his first goal for the Blues against the Hammers in the first half. The goal was a beautiful volley scored by Joao Felix in the first half of the game. Joao Felix have joined the Blues on a loan deal from Atletico Madrid till the end of this season. However, Chelsea does not have a buy option for the player. He connected with Chelsea’s record signing Enzo Fernandez for the goal against West Ham. Graham Potter is definitely excited to work with Joao Felix. Potter had talked to Ferdinand about the youngster.
Rio Ferdinand shares what Graham Potter told about Joao Felix
Graham Potter is definitely excited to work with Joao Felix as the player is believed to be one of the best young talents in Europe. Rio Ferdinand shared this before the match started. Later shared his detailed conversation with Graham Potter. Ferdinand shared,
“That was one of the first players we asked Potter about,”
He further added,
“Standing about talking to him asking how good is he? And there was a glowing report. Players are raising their eyebrows at some of the stuff he does, so we want to see that here, live. You hear about it in training, we want to see that here, that will be a great start.”
Ferdinand had explained why Potter have been struggling with the new Chelsea team. The former United player said,
“Chelsea, Graham Potter’s still finding his feet, 33 players, you’re trying to get a tune out of them and it’s hard. You’ve got to find the right balance but I’m really excited today to watch Joao Felix.“
“I thought he was really good in his game against Fulham, so watching him in that pocket behind sort of operating, I think that’s going to be a real problem for West Ham trying to deal with him.”
Chelsea fans would be hoping for Graham Potter to find his footing soon. The Blues have had a poor season so far. However, they would be hoping to have a better season next season as they have a number of new players now.
