Chelsea manager Graham Potter is expected to be able to keep his job at the club. Graham Potter might avoid getting sacked despite Chelsea’s bad performances before the World Cup break. The manager seems confident about it after meeting with the co-owner Behdad Eghbali. Potter had replaced Thomas Tuchel back in September and had quite a successful run at the beginning. However, things turned bad before the World Cup break. With Chelsea suffering four consecutive losses, many fans have since questioned Graham Potter’s future at the club. Chelsea’s last loss came at the hands of Newcastle United in a form of a 1-0 defeat. Furthermore, the Newcastle team looked far better than the Blues and have looked like that all season.

Graham Potter have held talks with the Chelsea co-owners

This decline in results has already put Graham Potter under a lot of pressure very early on in his Chelsea job. The Blues currently sitting at eighth position in the Premier League table. The Blues were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup before the World Cup break. Many believe had this been previous owner Roman Abramovich’s reign, the manager would have already lost his job. But the new owners are said to give Graham Potter enough time to settle into the job. Reports claim that the manager had gone to California during the World Cup and met one of the co-owners. He was then reassured by them about his role in the club. When asked about it, Potter commented,

“I’m even more confident, even more aware of the support I have now than three months ago when I took the job. It’s a credit to them and how they have communicated with me, it’s been fantastic. We all know the pressure and demands at this club, but we have also got enough people who can see the perspective and where we are at to be able to say, ‘This is where we are, how can we improve?'”

He further commented,

“I’m really looking forward to the weeks, months and years ahead. We understand where we are at and the challenges.”

Chelsea are going to face Bournemouth on Tuesday as their opening match after the World Cup break. Graham Potter will be aiming to bring Chelsea back on track. A win against Bournemouth could boost the confidence of the fans and the team. Fans will be hoping for a win.
