Gujarat Giants captain announced their captain for the inaugural edition

Beth Mooney, from Australia, was chosen to be the captain of the Gujarat Giants for the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Its first season will start on March 4th.

In a big game against South Africa, Beth Mooney helped her team win by scoring 74 runs. Because of her great performance, she was chosen as the best player of the game.

Sneh Rana, from India, will help Beth Mooney lead the team by being her deputy. Together, they will work hard to make the Gujarat Giants the best team they can be in the WPL.

I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead the Adani Gujarat Giants in the historic Women’s Premier League’s inaugural edition in 2023.”

Mooney said in a release.

The squad is keen to get the ball rolling soon and put out an entertaining and effective brand of cricket in the debut season of WPL. It will be absolutely fantastic to have the likes of Sneh as my deputy and Mithali Raj, Rachael Haynes and Nooshin Al Khadeer as pivotal parts of the team.

Mooney is a really good batter in Women’s T20. She has scored more than one hundred runs in a game, and her best score was 117 runs. She has also hit 18 half-centuries in the 83 T20 games she has played, scoring a total of 2,350 runs.
