However, India must now win their matches against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Therefore if they want to advance to the final of the present Asia Cup.

At the press conference following the game, India’s Virat Kohli expressed his support for Arshdeep by saying:

“Given the urgency of the circumstances, anyone may make the error. There was a lot riding on this game, so mistakes may happen. I clearly recall that I made a terrible shot against Shahid Afridi during my maiden Champions Trophy game versus Pakistan. I couldn’t sleep and was up till five in the morning staring at the ceiling, thinking that my career was finished. However, these things are normal. Senior players will surround you; the current team dynamic is positive, and I commend the captain and coach for that. The athletes gain knowledge from their errors. Therefore, one must acknowledge their error, take appropriate action, and look forward to the next time they are under pressure.”

When India and Pakistan played, the former was given the opportunity. Hence they bat first and the team scored 181/7 in 20 overs. While Virat Kohli led the way with a 60-point performance off of 44 balls. Pakistan chased down 182 runs, and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan led the team in scoring with 71 off 51 balls.

The most noteworthy performance, though, belonged to Mohammad Nawaz, who started the game at position four and eventually scored 42 runs off 20 balls. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, Ravi Bishnoi, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Arshdeep Singh each claimed one wicket for India.
