The comeback of Hardik Pandya in International cricket has been stunning. He overcame his injury and fitness issues and came back after months shining. Presently, India’s lower middle order is hugely dependent on Hardik’s power hitting and finishing capabilities. However the arrival of Dinesh Kartik gave Hardik a bit of relief. It won’t be wrong to say that the middle order right now is pretty tormenting for the opponents.
Keeping aside the batter Hardik Pandya, the bowler Hardik has been impressive too. His medium pacer has consistently been picking wickets, even keeping the economy tight.
However, its won’t be staggering to believe Hardik Pandya as India’s new Vice Captain. Well BCCI sources is discussing such possibilities.
KL Rahul was the one who the elected VC for the Men in Blue. But Rahul, recently, has tested positive for Covid 19. Thus, unfortunately, he has to miss the five match T-20 series against West Indies. Thus, Hardik is possibly to take the charge.
Hardik Pandya the Captain
It was in IPL 2022, when Hardik Pandya took the captain’s crown for GT. The decision raised eyebrows in the cricketing fraternity. However, Hardik demolished all those confusions, by leading GT to its maiden IPL trophy.
BCCI gave Hardik opportunity to captain India in the Ireland series too. BCCI sources told ANI,
“The management is discussing over the name for vice captaincy. It could be hardly one there as he gave us good results in the past. He Gujarat Titans the Champions of IPL 2022 under his leadership. He showed great performances in the series against South Africa and England. We want to name an all rounder for this post and in the current scenario, Hardik deserves this post.”
The post Virat Kohli saw a number of changes in captaincy. The fitness issue of Rohit Sharma had restricted his availability despite being the full time captaincy. However, KL Rahul was named as the VC in the red and white ball cricket.
Rahul couldn’t play the South Africa series too. He suffered from a groin injury for which he underwent a surgery. After his surgery, he was training at the National Cricket Academy.
