Harry Kane gives verdict on Son’s poor form

Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane netted a brace as Tottenham beat Nottingham Forest on Sunday. The Englishman became the third highest goalscorer in Premier League history meanwhile.

Kane scored a header for the third game running in the 81st minute after opening the scoring in the 5th minute. He is now the third highway scorer in the Premier League, behind Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney. He is tied with Andy Cole on 187 goals.

As much Kane has flourished this season, his teammate Son Heung-Min has struggled. He does not have a single strike to his name, despite winning the golden boot the previous season.

Harry Kane on Son’s form

Speaking after the game, Kane admitted that Son is finding his footing at the moment. However, he reiterated his trust in the Korean and maintained that he will start contributing again.

If you want to be a top team you need to compete in every position. That is what we have created with the squad we have now. Richarlison, whenever he’s had the opportunity, he’s played really well. He’s biting at the bit to play. We have a lot of games coming up. I know Sonny might be frustrated with not scoring yet. But he is an important player for us.

If we are going to achieve anything this year we need Sonny to keep doing what he is doing. He’ll pop up with goals, no doubt. But when players are not quite at it then you need players off the bench to make an impact and Richarlison has been doing that.

Kane and Son are statistically the best duo in the Premier League. The addition of Dejan Kulusevski has added a new dimension to their partnership. Antonio Conte has also praised him, and it looks to be a matter of time before we see the former Leverkusen man in top form again.
