‘He was outstanding in the whole game’: Thierry Henry praises former Liverpool man

Thierry Henry has praised former Liverpool goalkeeper, Simon Mignolet after his outstanding performances in Champions League.

The 35-years old Belgian is yet to concede a goal in Champions League this season. He has been in tremendous form this season, as he has kept four clean sheets in a row. His immense goalkeeping has helped Club Brugge to go into the last 16 first time in their history.

Mignolet left Liverpool in 2019 after playing for 6 years at Anfield. Club Brugge bought this Belgian goalkeeper for around £6 million. He total made 14 saves over two legs against Diego Simone’s team Atletico Madrid.

Thierry Henry impressed by Mignolet’s performance

Thierry Henry was impressed by the performance of the former Liverpool man. He highly praised him while talking to CBS sports, He said:

“Simon Mignolet is here being happy because this is only the second time a team from Belgium is going through the group stage,” said Henry.

“He is actually happy because he made 14 saves (over two games). That’s why they are all going towards him to congratulate him because he was outstanding in the whole game.”

Simon with one of the best forms of his career

Simon Mignolet is currently 34 years old and he’s having one of the best times of his career. He could be very important for the Belgian International team in the upcoming World Cup. We could see him in rotation with Thibaut Courtois who’s currently injured.
