3 Indian Players

The fever for County Championship is on. Fans the supporting this old event with grace. In a recent match, Sussex was bowled out for 258 in the first innings. They were chasing and were asked to follow on further.

The hosts were exceptionally good with their batting performance. The opposition bowlers were nagged and toiled throughout the day. But the host took it to 310 for no wicket loss at the end of the 3rd day. The coach, Maynard reacted that he could not help the bowlers as the pitch was flat and aided the batsman side.

Maynard Statement :

It was just a great opening partnership in the second half of the day.

We got to tea to see the news up at Worcester and it took the wind out of the sails a little bit but they stuck at it and they were throwing themselves around in the field right to the end.”

I can’t fault the effort but it’s a very flat pitch now with no spin and nothing in it for the seamers, and credit to both Orr and Haines who played very well.

We’ve got to try to take ten wickets by mid-afternoon and knock the runs off to finish the season on a high, but I’m going to have to work my magic in the morning to pick the lads up. It’s been a tough day for us. We’ve played some good cricket this year but fair credit to Middlesex for pipping us for that second place.”
