I see him: Gary Lineker praises 22-year old Chelsea winger

Gary Lineker was lauding the 22-year old Chelsea winger for his recent performances. Lineker admits that he now rates the Chelsea man Mykhailo Mudryk. The Ukraine international was under a lot of scrutiny during his first 12 months at the club. However, this season the story is looking different. The winger is now looking to have settled his boots at Stamford Bridge under new manager. Although his performances are a bit inconsistent yet much better than the previous season. He has scored two goals in the last four matches for the club.

Lineker praised the winger on the Rest is Football podcast saying,

“We have talked about their signings but I see something in Mudryk. I think there is something in there. He scored a goal, he has three goals now, he is quick. He shows a few signs, he ought to as he cost £100 million but that’s not his fault.”

The speed of the young man is really explosive, a nightmare for the defenders. Moreover, his tracking back in the defence is also considerable. If the Ukrainian can find some composure on the field, Chelsea do have a serious talent in their hands. Jamie Redknapp also said that he can learn a lot from Raheem Sterling. The position of the player is also well stacked with many options. Therefore, if he wants to make a place for him, he should start performing consistently. The fans at the Stamford Bridge will hope their record signing to have a great run of games in 2024. Despite a huge price tag of €100m, people must not forget he is still very young and has a lot of time to prove him.
