Inter Milan may hurry for a new contract for player amidst Liverpool interested

Liverpool

Italian club Inter Milan may quickly hand a new contract to Nicolo Barella as Liverpool look interested. Liverpool are in a quest for Inter man since a long time. Consequently, it may leave Internazionale to hand out a new contract as early as possible. That’s according to L’Interista, who are covering the situation between the club and player. They report that Inter are pressing for several contract renewals and Barella is among one of them.

The dialogue with the midfielder is open but at this moment in time there is no urgency as his current deal expires in 2026. This allows the club to negotiate with ‘relative calm’. However, the idea is to extend the term by two years i.e., 2028 with better salary and terms. The idea is to get it done in the New year as to avoid any rumours in the summer when the current deal will have only two years left. The only fear is the entry of the English giants Liverpool with a huge offer for the player. This can eventually force the Nerazzurris to let the midfielder leave without saying no.

Moreover, there is no lesser interest from other clubs as well other than Liverpool and the club is well aware of this. The ‘great interest ‘ from other clubs if comes into the picture, will surely force Barella to exit San Siro. Inter’s hierarchy know that and intend to shelter themselves from that potential scenario by opening talks early over a new deal.
