Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has his future uncertain with the club amid rising conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Some are of the opinion that the billionaire should not be allowed to be the owner of a Premier League club. This is because he is said to be a good friend of Vladimir Putin who decide to invade Ukraine.

According to Bloomberg, some private equity firms and sports investors, including some interest from the United States of America are circling Chelsea as their next investment. The Blues have already entertained an inquiry about the takeover this month, as per reports.

Roman Abramovich has a net worth of £9.7billion which has been evident in the world of football. He took over at Chelsea in 2003 after he became successful in the oil industry. The club has enjoyed the best moments of their history under Abramovich’s tenure as owner. Chelsea has enjoyed a lot of success in his time and some call him the best owner of a football club.

However, the rising tension between the two countries has caused people to think about his position at Chelsea. Before this, nobody would have questioned Abramovich’s ownership at the club due to the remarkable work he has done. Nevertheless, the club might have to take some unfortunate decisions to continue.

Why Chelsea might have to replace Roman Abramovich?

Roman Abramovich is said to be in contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The majority of the world is not in the favour of decisions taken by Putin. Therefore, Abramovich was bound to experience some backlash following recent events. Consequently, the club and the manager has had to answer a few questions regarding the issue.

Chelsea staff and players might feel uncomfortable working with the owner. They may not be able to communicate to the full extent with Abramovich if he stays. Since the club and FA are not in favor of the invasion, they might not accept Abramovich as their owner.

Although Abramovich’s contact with Putin has never influenced with interest in football, there are a few things that are more important. World peace is a bigger problem and certainly many at the club won’t like Russia’s actions. Even the majority of the Russians do not want what has been happening for the past few days.

There is still uncertainty and chances that Abramovich might retain his seat in the boardroom. However, if he does stay at the club, a lot of actions will take place for which the club will have to suffer. The final decisions lie in the hands of the English Government, the Football Association, and also the club. Nevertheless, there is no denying that this has become a matter of serious concern now.
