India is set to participate in the eighth edition of the t20 world cup 2022 within a few days. Recently BCCI announced the squad for this event. The squad was very much predictable with some injured players returning back. India had a disappointing campaign in Asia Cup 2022. The team will play 2 home series against South Africa and Australia before the world cup. The final squad is expected to play this home series. Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan has named his playing XI for T20 World Cup 2022. Lets have a look at it.

Irfan Pathan probable playing XI

Rohit Sharma (C), KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar, Deepak Hooda, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik (WK), Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal

The batting remains the same as of Asia Cup 2022. The openers have been back to form. The very positive news from the side is Virat Kohli. Jadeja is ruled out of the t20 world cup owing to a knee injury. So the inclusion of Deepak Hooda is very obvious. With Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel returning to the squad their inclusion was obvious. The playing XI has a good mix of bowlers like death bowling, and swing bowlers.

Irfan Pathan picked Dinesh Karthik over Rishabh Pant. He probably chose experience for the big stages. Rishabh did not perform so well according to his caliber in the t20s. He is getting chances most probably to maintain the right-hand left-hand combination. Dinesh has proven his worth in international matches and IPL too with his performance. He can act as a finisher too.
