Chelsea could be on the verge of receiving a significant injury boost. They are preparing to face Arsenal following the international break. According to reports from the Evening Standard, Reece James, Benoit Badiashile, and Trevoh Chalobah are all expected to make their return from injury.

Reece James has had limited game time this season. He featured in just one match, while Badiashile and Chalobah have yet to make an appearance due to injuries. Their impending returns, particularly that of James, could not come at a more opportune moment for Chelsea.

James Likely to Lead the Comeback

If all three players are fit to face Arsenal, it is anticipated that Reece James, the Chelsea captain and a key figure on the right side, will be the first choice to start the game. James has not only demonstrated his leadership on the field but also his influential contributions in attack.

In the limited game time he has had this season, particularly in the 1-1 draw against Liverpool, James showcased his ability by making two crucial key passes. In that match, only Dominik Szoboszlai managed to create more key passes (three) than James, as per WhoScored statistics.

Despite being primarily a right-back, James adds an extra dimension to Chelsea‘s attacking prowess, making his return a significant boost for the team.

Competition for Badiashile and Chalobah

For Badiashile and Chalobah, the competition for starting positions is stiffer. Thiago Silva and Axel Disasi are in contention. So they will need to work hard to secure their spots in the starting lineup. Additionally, Levi Colwill, whose natural position is central defense, presents another challenge for these two players.

Nevertheless, having these players nearing full fitness is undoubtedly a positive development for Chelsea. They aim to maintain their strong start to the season and face the challenge of an in-form Arsenal side.
