Chelsea might have to wave farewell to their star player Jorginho at the end of this season. Some insiders have an understanding that the Italian could leave after this season. According to the Athletic’s sources, the older members of Potter’s squad believe that this might be the last season Jorginho plays for the Blues. The Italian is edging closer to the end of his contract at Stamford Bridge which runs out at the end of the summer. Furthermore, there is still no confirmation about whether the player wants to renew or not. Most of the signs point in the direction of him parting ways with the Blues. The Italian signed for the Blues back in 2018 from Napoli.

Jorginho could leave Chelsea after his contract ends in the summer

While other signings with a huge price tag have suffered a rather disappointing stay at Chelsea. They have ultimately left Chelsea but Jorginho have stayed with the Blues as a constant. He might not be the fan favorite at times but he have outlived the favorites at Chelsea. Fans would never forget his contribution to winning the Champions League and Europa League. However, the Italian is likely to be playing his last season with the Blues. Chelsea are looking to build a new and young team under their manager Graham Potter. Him being 31 years old could be seen as a difference in point of view between the club and the player. Chelsea are reportedly looking in the transfer market to sign new midfielders. If Boehly manages to buy either Enzo Fernandez or Jude Bellingham, Jorginho could be seen as a surplus to the team.

He could be a surplus to Chelsea but not to other teams who are interested in signing him. Reports claim that Jorginho wishes to go back to Serie A. He would not be opposed to joining Napoli if they decide to make him a desirable offer. Only time will tell how things will turn out for both the player and the club.
