Joshua Zirkzee: Premier League bound?

tennis player

Joshua Zirkzee could be heading out of Bayern Munich this summer, with a few Premier League clubs in the mix.

Zirkzee has been the second-choice striker for the Bavarians for quite some time now. In the last couple of years, there were close to zero chances for him as Robert Lewandowski was on a hot streak of goals, breaking many records.

This summer, the Polish marksman departed for Barcelona. People assumed that Zirkzee will finally get a chance and show the fans what he is capable of. However, this was not to be as Bayern signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool.

In addition, they also secured the signature of high-rated prospect Mathys Tel. He made his debut as a substitute against Europa League champions Frankfurt in a 6-1 win on opening day. Zirkzee, on the other hand, was not involved.

All this points toward the fact that the Dutch striker’s future lies away from Bayern. He will be assessing his options.

Clubs In For Zirkzee

Fulham have expressed the most interest in signing Joshua Zirkzee. The Cottagers started off their campaign with a bang, overcoming odds to get a 2-2 draw with Liverpool. Evening Standard report that talks have taken place between the two parties.

In addition, the south coast duo of Bournemouth and Southampton have also expressed an interest. Scott Parker recently claimed that he was unsatisfied with his squad, so an addition may be due. Southampton may be looking for options up front after their 4-1 loss to Spurs, where Che Adams did not play a minute on the pitch.

Zirkzee had a good preseason this time around. The Dutch attacker is keen to play frequently, but Die Roten cannot promise him that. He had a successful loan season at Anderlecht last year, scoring over 15 goals in all competitions. He can turn out to be a bargain for any team that gets him.
