Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool star is the most unlucky player in the world

Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp claims that Darwin Nunez is the most unlucky player in the world. Jurgen said this owing to the performance of Nunez against Fulham recently. The Uruguayan was really impressive against the Cottagers but failed to find the back of net. However, he was the assist provider for both of Liverpool goals. As a result, the Reds emerged victorious after trailing behind at home.

The hosts conceded in the first 19minutes owing to an error at the backline. They were not looking comfortable during the former half but improved in the latter. The introduction of Nunez and Gakpo made the tempo very high at Merseyside. The 24-year old was the protagonist for both Curtis and Gakpo’s goals. Though his two efforts were brilliantly denied by Leno.

“I don’t know how to explain the Darwin [Nunez] situation. I’m so happy about our crowd and how they take it; I am so happy about Darwin’s reaction and how he takes it, but you cannot be more unlucky than he was in this finishing situation. It is just not possible. He does absolutely everything right and then the ball is not in. Then he still sets up the other goal.”

The Liverpool marksman is under heavy criticism currently for his finishing. Though, his work ethics cannot be questioned by anyone. He works indefatigably on the field and poses a danger to defences. He also makes good position in front of the sticks but somehow luck denies him. Nunez needs to keep going. He’s much better than he was last season, and with a little more work on the training ground, there’s every chance he explodes for Liverpool.
