“Kai Havertz not playing in his natural position” — Paul Brown

Journalist Paul Brown claims Kai Havertz is not playing in his natural position at Stanford Bridge this season.

The Blues are going through disastrous season this term, as they’ve now gone four games without scoring a goal. This is Chelsea’s worst run since 1993.

One of the major problems problem is that they don’t have a proper number nine in their squad this term. Apart from Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who has been left out of the squad for whatever reason. And due to which, Kai Havertz has been forced to play as the number nine. But the matter of fact is he has been not performing well in that position.

Kai Havertz naturally plays at Number Ten position and new interim manager Frank Lampard should allow this to happen.

Moreover, The 23-year-old is not an out and out striker and journalist Paul Brown agrees with this. He spoke to GiveMeSports and said :-

“It just doesn’t feel like Chelsea are set up to play to his strengths at the moment, and I think maybe the manager needs to tweak the system a little bit.

Havertz, to me, still feels like a 10, but Chelsea don’t have a nine really in the squad and that is the problem.

“I just don’t think Havertz is a ruthless goalscorer who’s going to be scoring you 20, 30 goals every season on a regular basis. That’s what Chelsea miss.”

However frankly speaking, Kai Havertz doesn’t look a someone who is currently enjoying his time at Stanford Bridge.
