Kai Havertz did not have a memorable World Cup, and now he is back at the Chelsea squad preparing for the domestic league. Kai Havertz failed to receive many praises at the World Cup. But he have managed to impress the Chelsea coach since his return to training. Germany failed to qualify for the group stages despite drawing with Spain and winning 4-2 against Costa Rica. Only a very few German internationals could claim that they had a good tournament. Kai Havertz is not one of them. Though Borussia Dortmund’s Jamal Musiala is one such young player who showed his worth in the tournament. One of the most underwhelming performances was given by Kai Havertz. The German international started against Japan but was dropped for the next match after he failed to register a shot on target.

Kai Havertz will be looking forward to Chelsea for his redemption

Havertz should put his full focus on Chelsea and helping them improve their position in the Premier League. He would have to forget the World Cup anguish and move forward with the club. It seems like he have already started his journey forward on a good note. The Chelsea club cameras were present in the possession training yesterday. They captured Kai Havertz practicing with his teammates. He earned his approval from one of the coaches, Anthony Barry. Havertz’s smart pass through several bodies was met with an applause by the coach.

Both Barry and Havertz started their journey together at Stamford Bridge back in 2020. Moreover, they both know each other well and know about each other’s capabilities. Chelsea fans will definitely remember him for scoring goals in Champions League games and Club World Cup games. But not much about his performances outside of those. If the German manages to return back to his previous form, it won’t be just Barry applauding for him.
