Two weeks in hand of Kane Williamson to prove his fitness for the world cup 2023. Kane Williamson had a painful farewell from the 16th season of Ipl after suffering from an injury.

Kane Williamson had sustained an ACL injury during Ipl while fielding in the boundary line to save a maximum. He was ruled out of the tournament after the first match between GT and CSK. He was part of Gujarat Titans squad. He was out-of-action for a long time from there on.

Is Kane Williamson recovering?

The experienced captain of New Zealand is still recovering from his injury. However, the anterior cruciate ligament injury of his right leg almost felt unlikely for his participation in the World Cup. His recovery is a good news for the Kiwis and his fans. He could make it to the New Zealand team and mark his presence in the world cup 2023 held in India.

What did Gary Stead say?

Responding to Kane Williamson’s possible presence for the tournament, the head coach of New Zealand, Gary stead stated

“[We’ve] got about two weeks from now until we name that side, and we’re going to give him every chance and use that full amount of time. He’s in full rehab mode. he’s back batting in the nets again, which is great to see. He’s progressing really well, but again, there’s a lot of work for him to do to make sure he gets to where we need him to be”

He further added

“They are all the things we are weighing up right now. “There’s a chance that even if Kane was named, he wouldn’t be available right at the start of the tournament. But he also might be, and he also might not be ready”
