According to Corriere dello Sport Kepa Arizzabalaga is on his way to join Napoli this year on a loan. A series of mistakes, a serious dip in the form, and unethical behavior saw Kepa fall in grace in the eyes of supporters as well as upper management. Moreover, Chelsea brought Edouard Mendy to London in 29019. This meant The 27 year fell down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge as the first-choice goalkeeper.

Kepa Arrizabalaga arrived at Stamford Bridge on 2018 from Athletic Bilbao. His transfer fee of €80 million(£71.6 million) made him the most expensive goalkeeper. He was brought in as a replacement for Real Madrid bound Thibaut Courtois. Kepa’s Chelsea career has been a rollercoaster ride. He has had a lot of great moments and some even worse embarrassing mistakes and errors. It is worth noting that Kepa is Chelsea’s most successful goalkeeper at saving penalties. However, his dip in form has led to him playing only four Premier League games this season and a handful of Champions League matches and that too as a substitute.

Napoli’s move for Kepa

Napoli have been chasing Kepa Arrizabalaga for two summers in a row. However, the talks never went beyond that of ‘general interest’. Now, Corriere dello Sport has announced that talks are in the advanced stage this summer. A major hindrance in the transfer process was Kepa’s astronomical salary figure at Chelsea. However, the clubs have found a way around this now. Chelsea are willing to play 75% of Kepa’s wages while Napoli has to pay 25% of the wages. Now, the primary negotiations between the clubs are about the fee the Italians will pay and any extra bonuses that will be included. Moreover, the loan deal will also have a permanent buy clause in it too. Now, the pressure is on Napoli to get the deal done before the 15th of August when their season starts
