As per reports, next FC Barcelona manager, Xavi Hernandez is keen on signing Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich. The Spaniard will either target Coman in the January transfer window or next summer.

Xavi will replace Ronald Koeman on 6th November in Barca’a game against Celta Vigo. Koeman’s exit came after Barca’s 1-0 defeat against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday. An emergency meeting with Joan Laporta and the club saw the Dutchman’s much-awaited exit post game.

The 58-yrs-old manager was already in speculations of leaving the club with Xavi expecting to take the job.

Coman can become the first signing under Xavi at Barcelona

Xavi has always been the number one target at Camp Nou, and the club’s former midfielder has now agreed to take on the role. He is currently the manager at Qatari club, Al Sadd.

With his contract expiring in June 2023, Coman is looking for a move outside of the Allianz Arena. The Frenchman has scored 42 goals and registered 50 assists in 208 appearances for Bayern. He is linked with Premier League clubs Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

Meanwhile, Xavi has confided to people close to him that he is a huge fan of Coman. Xavi usually plays a 4-3-3 system and admires wingers who can go both inside and outside, a certain quality that the 25-yrs-old winger possesses.

The Spaniard is reportedly an admirer of ‘classic’ wingers who create havoc when they attack. Coman can also use his speed to receive balls into space, which also suits Xavi’s system.

The only problem that Barcelona is facing, is money. However, the Frenchman might be a bargain for them if they manage to find the necessary funds since his contract is running out in 2023 and the German club is reportedly looking to sell him next summer.
