Rio Ferdinand thinks Jurgen Klopp will recall Brazilian midfielder Fabinho to the playing 11 against Arsenal this weekend.

The reds are going to visit Emirates for their upcoming fixture against in-form Arsenal. Arsenal currently sits on top of the table and have only managed to lose one game.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s stuttering start to the season continues, having won only two league games from seven and currently sitting in 9th position.

However, in their last European fixture against Rangers in the Champions League, they edged out 2-0 at Anfield. This champions league victory might have given some motivation for the next big fixture.

Fabinho, a £40m signing by Liverpool in 2018 has been a tremendous one for the manager. However, he couldn’t make it into starting eleven against the Rangers. But Ferdinand is confident that the Brazilian will be back in midfield for the reds against the gunners.

He told BT Sports,

“I think Fabinho comes in and plays against Arsenal. In defensive positions in midfield, he’s fantastic, been a mainstay, so I don’t see him not coming in and playing.

“Having those four attacking players on the pitch tonight (against Rangers) was perfect. I think Arsenal is a completely different proposition and I think they won’t be able to play as freely and expansively as they did today.”

Is Fabinho starting for Liverpool against Arsenal?

It is highly probable that he starts for them. He’s like an engine in midfield for the reds and Klopp really can’t afford to bench him against the league leaders. It is the kind of game in which Klopp really need big names.
