Kovacic price for the transfer window set to be £35 million by Chelsea

Chelsea is reportedly demanding a fee of around £35 million to part ways with midfielder Mateo Kovacic, as Manchester City shows serious interest in acquiring the player, according to sources from 90min. The croatian midfielder has been an asset for whichever team he has played for. Big clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea and the Croatian National team.

Discussions between the Premier League champions and Kovacic began last month,. Also, considering the midfielder has only one year remaining on his contract. Chelsea is preparing to negotiate a deal as they aim to finance their own midfield moves. The club has also shown interest in Sporting CP’s Manuel Ugarte, Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, and West Ham’s Declan Rice.

Manchester City, who have made progress in negotiations with Kovacic’s agent.They are not expecting to face any issues with the transfer fee. The two parties are close to reaching an agreement on personal terms. And City is optimistic about finalizing the deal in the coming weeks.

Is the £35m price tag fair for Kovacic?

Chelsea is fully aware of the need to raise funds and is willing to sell Kovacic this summer. Sources have confirmed that a price tag of approximately £35 million has been set for the Croatian international.

Kovacic, a former Inter midfielder, joined Chelsea on an initial loan deal from Real Madrid in 2018. Since then, he has made 221 appearances for the Blues, contributing with six goals and 15 assists across all competitions.
