It was no secret how Kylian Mbappe had his heart set to join Real Madrid this summer, with the deal looking to close in. However, it is confirmed that Mbappe will stay at Paris Saint-Germain this season after no deal was signed at the end of the transfer market. It seems PSG have prioritized winning the Champions League this season rather than earning a profit from the Mbappe transfer.
Mbappe permanently joined the Ligue 1 giants back in 2018 with one of the highest price tags of €180 million. And since then he has done wonders in the upfront scoring 135 goals in 175 appearances in all competitions. But, he has decided about ending his career at PSG with a transfer to his dream club Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants are long-time admirers of Kylian Mbappe as they are keeping tabs on him for more than one year. And finally, this summer the interest was made official after Real Madrid made their first bid for signing Mbappe. But PSG rejected it wanting the transfer to happen on their terms and conditions.
Following which, Real Madrid upped the bid by 10 million making it a second bid but that also fell off. And lastly, on the transfer deadline day, Real Madrid offered a huge bid of £197 million which was again stalled by French giants. And this makes Kylian Mbappe stay at PSG this season with his contract ending next summer.
However, despite not getting Mbappe this summer, Madrid fans are happy. That’s because they will be getting him for free next summer. And paying that amount of money for a player incoming for free next season seems to have an arguing point.
Real Madrid looking forward to sign Mbappe in January
As the summer transfer market is closed Mbappe to Real Madrid this season can be labeled as a failed transfer. But with the coming winter transfer window in January Real Madrid will be labeling that as a successful transfer.
Kylian Mbappe’s current contract is set to end next summer, and as per rules, he has the right to approach any club from January. As a result, Real Madrid will be knocking on Mbappe’s door with a contract this coming January. And it might be a new year gift for the Madrid fans.
So, not this season but likely next summer Kylian Mbappe will be presented proudly in the Santiago Bernabeu. And with that, the Frenchman will be the new Galactico and face of Real Madrid.
