Leandro Trossard had started for Arsenal in their match against Bournemouth on Saturday. The player has been in a good form since joining the Gunners. But Leandro Trossard was forced off the pitch after playing only 22 minutes in the match. With both Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah being injured, Arsenal had turned to their January signing. But as things look the player himself have suffered an injury. Leandro Trossard was chasing down a counter-attack by the opponent team. It is there where he picked up an injury. He had been impressive for Arsenal in the last couple of games. Therefore it will no doubt be a worry for the Gunners to have him injured. Mikel Arteta however have now provided an update on the player. Although the update doesn’t look that promising for the player.

Mikel Arteta provides an update on Leandro Trossard

Leandro Trossard could likely miss Arsenal’s match against Sporting CP and the clash against Fulham. Mikel Arteta provided an update on the player when asked about. The manager commented, “It is a worry. He came to me straight away and told me he could not continue because he’d felt something when he was tracking back after the corner. We have to assess him and see how he is.” The return of Gabriel Jesus or Nketiah would certainly be a welcome. However the manager admitted on having other alternatives for Leandro Trossard. Arteta pointed out, “We have alternatives – Emile can play in that position as well, we can move players and Reiss can give us width and threat in wider areas,” He further continued, “We’ll have to assess every opponent because they’ll be different. Now we have Sporting CP, a really tough match, so let’s hope we’ll have one or two back.”

The good news for Arsenal is the international break is not far away. Leandro Trossard is likely to get the time to heal form his injury that he needs. However Arsenal still have to play 4 games before the international break. Two for Premier League and two for Europa League. The fans and the manager will be hopeful that Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith Rowe can hold the fort till any of the strikers return.
