Legendary footballer Thierry Henry says the Chelsea man is not having a rhythm in his game

Former Arsenal star Thierry Henry shares his concern about a Chelsea player. Henry said that Chelsea man Lesley Ugochukwu has no rhythm in his game. The legendary Frenchman is currently a manager for France U-21 team. Moreover, he is managing Ugochukwu in the national side. The 19-year old defensive midfielder joined Chelsea from French side Rennes this summer for £23.2 million. Even though he has a lot of qualities, he has only managed to start in his four out of 11 appearances for the club.

Thierry Henry has now revealed his worries for Lesley’s minutes at Stamford Bridge. He told L’Equipe that,

“The problem is the same with Lesley, even if the situation is different at Chelsea because in front of him there are players like Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo. But he’s not playing, and nowadays, these players don’t even play with the reserve side to keep their rhythm.

At the start of the season, you can benefit from the physical conditioning of the pre-season but the benefits fade and I hope he can continue to keep on course physically.”

No one would have expected Ugochukwu to get a starting spot in the squad from the start. The presence of quality players like Enzo Fernandez, Caicedo and Conor Gallagher is top notch at the moment. Moreover, journalist Dean Jones reported in September that the staff at Chelsea is happy with the potential and ability of the France international. However, Lesley managed to play every game in the Carabao Cup for the West London side. Now, there will be the quarter-final of the competition against Newcastle United in the month of December. It will be interesting to see what Pochettino decides on the future of the French midfielder with the club.
