Paris Saint-Germain are preparing to offer Lionel Messi a 2-year deal. The French giants are looking to bring the Argentine legend to the Parc De Princes.

Earlier on Friday, coach Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that signing the 34-year-old “was a possibility”. Messi’s father and agent, Jorge, is due to negotiate with Les Parisiens soon.

The 6-time Ballon d’Or winner was all set to extend his stay at Camp Nou. However, financial issues disallowed him from penning a new deal. On Thursday evening, the little magician’s exit from Catalonia was made public.

The news that La Pulga has left Barcelona on a free transfer rocked the world of football. The news inevitably sparked a tsunami of speculation regarding the Argentina superstar’s next destination.

The legendary forward’s most likely stop seemed to be Manchester City. They have just transacted a record £100,000,000 fee on Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

Pep Guardiola played down the prospect of signing Lionel Messi by insisting that the Argentinian was “not in the club’s thoughts.”

The next name was that popped up was Paris Saint-Germain. PSG have brought in some big signings already with free transfers in Sergio Ramos and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that PSG are “so, so confident” about their chances of signing Messi. They are putting together a two-year contract with the option of another 12 months.

Romano adds that Mauricio Pochettino’s side will present the offer to Messi and his father Jorge in the coming hours. It is believed that former teammate Neymar is also pushing for the deal to be done.

Messi, 34, departs Barcelona after netting a breath-taking 672 goals and 305 assists in 778 appearances. He has won 4 Champions League titles and 10 La Liga crowns during a fruitful 16-year spell at the Blaugrana.
