Liverpool falls behind in the race to sign Declan Rice as Arsenal is closing in on a deal to sign the West Ham captain.

According to Football Transfers, the negotiations between the Gunners and the English midfielder are at end phase. Arsenal are now leading the race to sign Rice in the summer, despite strong interest from Liverpool.

Reds have been linked with Rice for past few weeks as the midfielder is ready to leave West Ham in the summer. But Arsenal are now in prime position to sign him and Arteta will be eager to work with him.

Rice is valued at £100m, which will shatter Arsenal’s tranfer record currently held by Nicolas Pepe(£72m). Liverpool will look sign number of the midfielders in the summer as they’re currently monitoring Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister and Chelsea’s Mason Mount.

Liverpool will always struggle to beat their rivals to sign the West Ham star in the summer. But missing out on the English International will not be a problem for the Reds.

Reds have already missed out on Jude Bellingham due to his high market price as the midfielder has agreed personal terms with Spanish Giants Real Madrid. However, Liverpool are monitoring Brighton duo Alexis Mac Allister and Moises Caicedo, Mason Mount and Manuel Ugarte.

Rice could have been world-class signings for Reds but Jurgen Klopp knows his clubs financial situation. Liverpool will look to sign multiple players in the summer and so spending that much on a single player, looks impossible for the club.

Liverpool will have number of players departing in the summer and due to which, they need to bring some fresh faces to change their fortunes next season.
