Liverpool Now ‘Seriously Looking’ at £10.5m Midfielder at Anfield

Liverpool

Liverpool, one of the top Premier League clubs, is currently showing a keen interest in acquiring the services of a talented midfielder for a reported fee of £10.5 million. However, they might face stiff competition from other clubs if they decide to pursue this exciting prospect during the summer transfer window.

Romeo Lavia, the Southampton midfielder, has been a subject of intense speculation, with many linking him to Liverpool. Dharmesh Sheth from Sky Sports has shed some light on the matter, revealing what he knows about the player and the Merseyside club.

It appears that Liverpool’s pursuit of Lavia may not go unchallenged. As one of their Premier League rivals, Chelsea, is also reportedly eyeing the young talent.

Liverpool now faces a crucial decision whether to actively pursue Lavia. Time may be of the essence as other suitors are also vying for the signature of this highly rated 19-year-old.

Furthermore, there is speculation that Liverpool might be interested in Chelsea’s Levi Colwill, an England U21 international. As Jurgen Klopp contemplates reinforcing his squad with another center-back. Colwill, who spent the previous season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion. He could potentially find a place in Mauricio Pochettino’s team following Kalidou Koulibaly’s departure from Stamford Bridge, posing a potential setback for Liverpool’s plans.

While strengthening the midfield and central defense remain Liverpool’s primary concerns. There is also a possibility of bolstering their attacking options. According to a report from Foot Mercato, Liverpool has shown appreciation for the talents of Zenit Saint Petersburg winger Malcom.

However, with the presence of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, and Darwin Nunez, Liverpool’s wide attacking options seem quite formidable. Therefore, a move for Malcom would come as a surprise and may not be a priority for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

What Next for Liverpool?

Heading into this transfer window, Liverpool’s focus has been on fortifying their midfield. Especially with the departures of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner. All of whom reached the end of their contracts. The early signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have already addressed this issue. But there is still an opportunity to add another talented No.6 or No.8 midfielder to their ranks.

Undoubtedly, Romeo Lavia has caught Liverpool’s attention, and they may indeed intensify their pursuit of him. However, in the event that they miss out on his signing to Chelsea or another club. It would not be a catastrophic setback for Liverpool, considering the acquisitions of Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, which have already strengthened their midfield options.
