Liverpool going to miss the service of Andy Robertson

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that they are very happy despite Robertson injury ruling him out for Premier League for few weeks.

The Scotland international injured on pitch against Athletic Bilbao in Sunday’s friendly match. He will be out of the squad for the Premier League opener against Norwich City this weekend and beyond.

Robertson tweeted on Twitter regarding his injury – “nothing too major.” But still it will take some time for him to recover from this injury.

“I think we got lucky with Andy, it could have been much worse. The footage didn’t look too good but we got lucky and it will not be too long. Before the international break (in early September), after the international break, I don’t know.” said Liverpool’s boss, Klopp.

Klopp told the media about Robertson’s injury after the friendly match against Osasuna which they won 3-1.

Will Robertson’s absence affect Liverpool’s defence?

Robertson is remaining upbeat despite being pictured outside a Liverpool hospital on Monday with his foot in a protective boot.

“Scan suggests nothing too major but there’s some ligament damage which will need to mend. I will be grafting every day so I can help the team again sooner rather than later,” Andy added in his tweet.

According to The Guardian, Robertson’s injury makes more chances for Kostas Tsimikas to play in the Premier League. He only played six minutes in his maiden Premier League for the Reds last season.

Liverpool will host Chelsea at The Anfield in August and Robertson is expecting to return till then. Jürgen Klopp’s side then travels to Leeds United on 12 September which may be a more realistic date following ligament damage.

Robertson played all 38 Premier League games last season for Liverpool. He has just missed four games for his club in the previous three league campaigns.
