Spain national manager Luis Enrique was praised on-loan Chelsea striker Armando Broja after his side’s 2-1 victory over Albania on Sunday.

Armando Broja is a Chelsea academy graduate. The young striker is currently spending the 2021-22 season on loan at fellow Premier League side Southampton. The 20-year-old has always been highly regarded by the Chelsea faithful. He has certainly shown his talents during his loan spell with Southampton.

The striker has shown plenty of promise and desire to run at defenders. On top of that, he is a very strong runner with the ball at his feet and has also shown calmness in front of the goal. Armando Broja has made a total of 31 appearances across all competitions this term. In this time he has recorded a decent goal return of nine goals and one assist. (stats via Transfermarkt)

While Southampton’s summer signing Adam Armstrong has struggled to impress in the Premier League. Armando Broja has not looked one bit out of place in the Premier League. The young striker has looked more nailed on in Ralph Hasenhüttl’s starting lineup than Armstrong since the start of the season.

The Chelsea faithful have even called the club to give the young striker a go in the starting lineup next term. Despite signing two top strikers for big fees in the last two summer transfer windows. Both Lukaku and Werner have failed to impress the Chelsea faithful. The club is still on the lookout for a new starting striker in the summer. This may come as the perfect opportunity for Broja to make a name for himself at Stamford Bridge.

Talking about Armando Broja during his post-match interview after the 2-1 win over Albania on Sunday, Luis Enrique:

“Broja is very strong. If you look at him at Southampton he causes problems for the best central defenders in the world.”

Can Southampton sign Armando Broja on permanent bases from Chelsea?

Reports suggest that Southampton is keen to sign Armando Broja on a permanent deal in the summer. But Chelsea has no intention of letting the promising youngsters walk out of the club on a permanent basis. Ralph Hasenhüttl has been high on praise for the youngster since the start of the season and he made his intentions clear about his desire to keep the striker at the club on a permanent basis. He said:

“He knows how important it is for him as a player to play continuously,” “Here, he gets that chance and has shown he fits us and our shape. There are a lot of examples where players after changing clubs do not perform as they have done with us.”

“We have a good relationship with Chelsea and are in good contact. He is their player. We have tried to develop him here, and I think we have.”
