Nathan Lyon broke many records after his five-wicket haul against India in the second test. Lyon is the first Australian to complete 100 wickets against India. It took him 24 tests to take 100 wickets. The bowlers who take more wickets than Lyon are Anil Kumble and Ashwin in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Ashwin also has 100 wickets in BGT but he achieved the feat in 20 test matches. Anil Kumble is the leading wicket-taker with 111 wickets in 20 matches.

The five-wicket haul in the second test is his eighth against India. Eight five-wicket hauls against India is the record, he took this record off from the Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan. In India, Lyon has five five-wicket hauls. It is most by any visiting player.
For Australia in test cricket, Lyon is the fourth-highest wicket-taker. He is behind Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, and Dennis Lillee. In the list of most five wicket-hauls among spinners, Lyon is in second place behind Ashwin and above Shakib al Hasan.
As the Border-Gavaskar Trophy still has two more tests, It will be interesting to who will be the first to beat the record of most wickets in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. It will be watched closely by the fans and the experts. Anil Kumble has 111 wickets and both Ashwin and Lyon have 100 wickets each.
The third and fourth tests will be played in Indore and Ahmedabad. The Indian team will leave for their home to spend quality team with their family. And will regroup in Indore. The leading run scorer in the test series is the Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Ravindra Jadeja got man of the match in both the test match. This is a terrific comeback for Jadeja after coming back from the injury.
