Major changes coming for Red Bull and Ferrari

Ferrari 2023

Both Ferrari and Red bull are reportedly bringing some major changes in design for the upcoming season this year.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, both Ferrari and Red bull are again going to have a head start this year. The reports indicate both teams have made some remarkable changes in their cars.

Talking about Red bull, the RB18 was already the most dominant car on the grid leaving Ferrari miles behind after a rather strong start. However, weight was a major problem for the Milton Keynes-based squad for much of the season. Now, reports indicate that the side has coped even more with the weight issue reducing around 3 kilos in the process.

“The gearbox, thanks to a different placement of the suspension elements, will present a lower narrowing, increasing the section of the Venturi channels,”

reported Paolo Filisetti – author of La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

“The layout of the sides will maintain strong points of contact with the 2022 car. But will be characterized by a refinement of the ‘double bottom’.”

On the Ferrari side, Filisetti reported the car to be narrower. We can expect a completely new aerodynamic design making the car narrower.

The Maranello-based squad is also changing the gearbox. The gearbox is expected to be made to make the car more competitive.

Coming down to the last major change for Ferrari is expected to be the engine. It is reported that the power of the engine will be increased by 30 bhp. It will give the 2023 challenger a major boost in straight-line speed. Also, it will fix the reliability issues that plagued their 2022 campaign.

We can again expect a headway fight between Red bull and Ferrari in 2023.
