Chelsea are said to have high hopes for their new signing Malo Gusto. According to reports, Chelsea believes that they have signed the best ‘under 20 right-back in Europe’. They have signed Gusto from Lyon for £26m. It was reported yesterday the Blues have secured the services of the young player. However, no official announcement have been made yet. The player will join the Blues this summer. Lyon were not willing to let the player leave mid-way through the season. Therefore they have opted to sell Malo Gusto to Chelsea. But they have agreed to keep him on loan until the end of this season. With this latest signing, Chelsea’s spending on signing new players under Todd Boehly have reached the £500m mark.
Malo Gusto to join Chelsea in the summer
Gusto’s transfer is actually the cheapest of the lot. And this transfer could turn out to be the most profitable of all. Furthermore, he is regarded highly in Ligue 1. Malo Gusto is regarded as one of the best right-backs in Europe. Moreover, he have already established himself in Ligue 1. Therefore it won’t be long before the player earns his senior cap. He has already played for the U-21s for his national team. His move to Stamford Bridge is to provide a cover for Reece James. Reece James have been unfortunate with injuries this season. Therefore Chelsea were looking for an alternative for him. Malo Gusto looks to be an excellent choice for them.
Hence if James is injured again, Chelsea would have Malo Gusto as an option for them. However, Graham Potter would have to hold out for a few more months. He would have to wait to unleash the player till next season. But the wait could very well reward for both the managers and the fans.
