Man Utd are rumored to be inching closer to signing Dembele in the January transfer window. Dembele is out of favor in Barcelona and is looking for a new club in the winter transfer window.

Barcelona confirmed that nothing is left for him in Barca as he doesn’t want to be part of the project.

Meanwhile, this decision comes after Dembele’s attitude of not renewing the contract and increasing his wage demands to the club. As a result, the Blaugranas are now trying to offload the Frenchman in the January transfer window.

As spoken by Mateo Alemany on the club’s official Twitter page:

“With Ousmane and his agents we started conversations around the month of July,”

Over that time, almost seven months, we have talked, Barça made different offers, we tried to find a way for the player to continue with us and those offers have been continuously rejected by his agents.

We told him and his agents that he must leave the club immediately because we want players committed to the project.

We expect a transfer before Jan. 31. From a sporting perspective, we don’t want to have players who don’t want to be at Barça.”

However, the Frenchman came out to dismiss all the claims made against him. He said that all the time, he has only focused on playing football. He also insisted on doing his best on the field for the club.

So, it is fair to say that the relationship between the Les Bleus star and Barca cannot be mended.

The Frenchman can leave for free in the summer. However, if he stays, he will not be able to play for his national side at the World Cup.

Man Utd chances in the transfer and other clubs interested in Dembele

According to Sport, Man Utd is ready to sign the Frenchman this month. This move will be good for all the parties involved.

In an ideal situation, Barca might manage to procure €20m if they manage to sell him in this transfer window. On the other hand, a swift deal will allow Man Utd to avoid competition from other clubs.

As per reports, the Old Trafford outfit would like to offer a long-term deal. However, the player might not agree with them.

The 24-year-old was signed for a mammoth fee of £135million and his contract expires in June.

Reportedly, Newcastle United, PSG, and other European top-tier clubs are also monitoring his current situation.
