Manchester City brushes away rumours for Bukayo Saka

Manchester City have reportedly denied reports that said that they are interested in signing Bukayo Saka. The Arsenal winger still has two years remaining in his contract. Moreover, he had another impressive season at the Emirates this year. From the 43 games that he played for the Gunner, he scored 12 goals.

Therefore, with his contract set to expire in some years’ time, there were reports that said City have stepped up its efforts to sign the English international. However, it was clear that City would not have moved to Saka this summer. As they have already made a big signing in the like of Erling Haaland.

Still, a future bid for the 20-year-old was considered by City, as the report said. However, the Mirror reported that City have allegedly stated that there is ‘nothing in the rumours’ which linked City to the Englishman. Pep Guardiola’s side have already a number of star wingers who could play at that position with aplomb. The wingers include Jack Gralish, Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, and Riyad Mahrez.

Can Arsenal succeed in extending Bukayo Saka’s deal in the future?

Though, there is uncertainty over Sterling’s stay at the Etihad this year. As there are reports that the ex-Liverpool man could leave City this summer. Moreover, in recent weeks Sterling has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.

With so many talented wingers in the side, Sterling has struggled to get enough game time this year as he would have desired. Still, he had a good season at the Etihad. From the 30 appearances that he made in the Premier League, he scored 13 goals and provided 6 assists.

The winger enters into the last two years at the club from the coming season. Therefore, the Gunners would try to negotiate a contract extension with him soon. This would inevitably end any speculation around his future in the coming days.
