Manchester City have shown interest in Arsenal star Kieran Tierney. Kieran Tierney has been tipped by Andy Cole to join Manchester City this summer. Furthermore the player have only started in four Premier League games this season. Moreover the player have come off the bench quite a few times this season. However he fell short behind Oleksandr Zinchenko in the pecking order. Kieran Tierney was a crucial player for Arteta when he first joined Arsenal. With his solid defending abilities and will to push forward, he was one of the key player in the squad. Furthermore his leadership qualities on the pitch made him a potential option to become an Arsenal captain after Aubameyang was offloaded. However his constant injury problems became a hurdle in his Arsenal career. With the arrival of Zinchenko, the player lost his place in the squad.
Kieran Tierney tipped to join Manchester City this summer window
The player is now weighing up his options. Newcastle United is another club who have shown interest in Kieran Tierney. The club is apparently leading in the race to sign the player. However Andy Cole believes that Manchester City could likely be his next destination. Cole suggested, “I like Kieran Tierney, he’s had a few problems with injuries but he is talented. If Arsenal are prepared to sell him, he would not be struggling for options. If Manchester City are in for him, I could see that working, but he’d be competing with Ben Chilwell, who is linked to Manchester City too. Kieran Tierney will want to play, and if he doesn’t continue to get any game time, he’ll be looking to go somewhere else in the summer.”
He further added, “If you look at Tierney’s situation previously, you have to ask what did he actually do wrong? He’s never let Arsenal or Mikel Arteta down, of course, he’s had a few injuries but he’s always played well. He’s a kid with a brilliant attitude. If he sees a chance to get more game time I’m sure he’ll put his head down and work for it, but I would not be surprised if he took the option to move on and play more.”
Manchester City could likely be his next destination
Manchester City are said to be looking the market for a left-back this summer. The Kieran Tierney could likely be an option for them. It will be interesting to see how things turn out before the summer transfer window open.
