Manchester United have faced a lot of issues this season despite the arrivals of Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo. Edinson Cavani is also likely to leave United at the end of this season. Moreover, Martial’s performance this season have not been impressive too. Cristiano Ronaldo does not have much time left on the pitch and United needs a good backup striker.
In addition, Marcus Rashford‘s performances have also majorly dropped with him considering his future away from Old Trafford. Although it is unlikely for him to leave United this summer, it is still a shocker for both the player and the fans. Poor finishing has cost United a lot of points this season and it might also be the reason for their elimination from the Champions League.
Tammy Abraham has become a star at AS Roma under Mourinho. He has scored 23 goals for the Italian outfit in 40 appearances in all competitions. No one expected him to have this much impact on the team in his very first season. It is understandable if Roma does want to sell him even if they get £100million from his sale.
Why is Manchester United ready to break the bank for Tammy Abraham?
Tammy Abraham is a very good finisher which was demonstrated when he scored a hattrick in his debut season at Chelsea. United have been poor in finishing even the easiest of chances. Having Tammy in their lineup will at least increase the chances of scoring easy chances. Moreover, they also have one of football’s greatest Cristiano Ronaldo in their squad who can help Tammy.
Tammy Abraham is also very good at winning aerial duels. This will help United score more goals from crosses as they struggled with that this season. United have also been poor while scoring from set-pieces. Tammy will be another threat in the box capable of getting to the ball first. Furthermore, he is also good at playing through passes and can include his teammates in play.
He will work well with his England teammates like Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford. A front three of these players will have a lot of pace for the opponents to handle. Tammy will also get a very good experience of playing at the highest level and will also learn while playing with better players. Although Tammy Abraham is a very good player, Manchester United player should spend £100million on him. Instead, United have very good options in that price range. Harry Kane is one of the players United could look at or even Declan Rice from West Ham United. Tammy Abraham has not proved himself enough to switch clubs for £100million.
