Manchester United signing Raphael Varane will face a delay in moving to England due to visa issues.

United have reached an agreement to sign Varane from Real Madrid in a deal worth around £40,000,000. The Frenchman was due to arrive in Manchester on Monday to finalize negotiations and pen a contract.

However, the move is yet to happen as Varane awaits a visa to permit him to work in England. Currently, there is no news regarding the issue of the visa. Nonetheless, there is no risk of the move breaking down.

Real Madrid Legend Varane will now be playing for United

The Frenchman posted a message, bidding farewell to Real Madrid. Varane departs after 10 years with the Spanish giants. During his time, he helped them claim a trophy haul that included four Champions League titles.

Manchester United identified Varane as a suitable partner to Harry Maguire. Nonetheless, the Red Devils will have to wait a little longer to see their new signing in action.

To complicate things further, once Varane does eventually get to England, he will have to quarantine before his medical and contract signing. Thus, it is possible the deal could be held up by at least a week.

Manchester United are set to take on Leeds United in their opening game. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is perturbed that he will not be able to add the centre-back to the squad in time.

The centre-back is unlikely to feature in any pre-season friendlies. There is also the possibility he might miss the match against Leeds on August 14.

At United, Varane will be keen to link up with fellow Frenchman Paul Pogba. However, just how long the two will be together at Old Trafford is uncertain. Pogba has 12 months remaining on his contract. The midfielder wants to evaluate his options before deciding his future.
