Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed Premier League giants Manchester United have made an inquiry for Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.

Both the Premier League giants’ future seems to be under massive scrutiny. Manchester United have seen their season basically come to an end with the 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. The red devils are out of every competition as things stand. The club are set to fight for 4th place in the Premier League table for the rest of the season. The red side of Manchester have now gone five years without a trophy.

On top of all that, the club are set to appoint a new manager at the start of next season. Interm manager Ralf Rangnick is set to move to a consultant role at the end of the season. While Chelsea have seen their owner Roman Abramovich sanctioned by the UK Government. This also means that the process to sell the club was also put on hold. This in turn has seen the blues manager Thomas Tuchel linked with the Old Trafford job.

Florian Plettenberg tweeted about the Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel’s links with Manchester United, he wrote:

“Update Tuchel. Yes, MUFC is interested due to the uncertain future of Chelsea. They have inquired about him. But: Tuchel loves the club, he wants to stay at CFC, his family is happy in London. He doesn’t think about a move to Manchester United actually.”

Jamie Carragher recommends Manchester United to target Thomas Tuchel?

Former Liverpool defender and now football pundit Jamie Carragher also recommended the red devils to go after Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel. Carragher wrote:

“Manchester United have been presented with the ideal opportunity to recruit the manager who should be their number one target: Thomas Tuchel.

“All roads have been leading towards Mauricio Pochettino since the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. After Paris St-Germain’s latest Champions League failure, Mauricio Pochettino will be available soon.

“But he may have stronger competition for the United job than he could have imagined.”

Erik ten Hag still leading the race for the Manchester United job?

Reliable journalist Samuel Luckhurst recently revealed that despite the links with the other managers, Erik ten Hag is leading the race to land the Manchester United head coach role at the end of the season. The Ajax manager is also Ralf Rangnick’s preferred managerial candidate.
