Manchester United make ‘offer’ for Victor Osimhen

Reports are incoming from various sources that Manchester United made an ‘important offer’ for the Napoli forward Victor Osimhen. Former Red Devils player Odion Ighalo described him as ‘the future’. The striker now getting heavy links with a move away to Old Trafford in Manchester this month.

Reports previously claimed that Arsenal also registered interest in the 23-year old and knocked on Napoli’s doors. But as it seems now, the ‘pole position’ to sign the Nigerian belongs to the red side of Manchester.

Erik Ten Hag faced the media for the first time as Man United boss on Monday. From his words, it felt that the Dutchman is working quite hard to chase his targets to resurrect the squad.

Osimhen transfer update

Sport Witness passed on an important transfer update from La Repubblica regarding Osimhen’s transfer. Besides Manchester United, Osimhen also received an offer from the recently-crowned Serie A champs AC Milan, according to the reports. But Man United made the most ‘important offer’.

However, Ten Hag admires Tottenham striker Harry Kane and wants to bring him to Old Trafford. Osimhen is seemingly an ‘alternative’ if they fail to sign the England international.

It’s unknown how much United bid for the star striker. But expect them to put a big bid, quite more than his actual valuation. Osimhen is valued at £54 million by the sports website Transfermarkt. However, reports arose that Napoli will demand a figure close to €90 million (£76.8 million). Surely, it will put a hole into Ten Hag’s budget which will be around £100 million – £150 million. Moreover, he also wants to sign his countryman Frenkie de Jong from FC Barcelona with whom he previously worked.

However, United will look to offload some players to coup funds for their summer signings including right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Eric Bailly are already on the list.
