Manchester United manager blocked Van de Beek loan move

As the transfer market raced towards the end Manchester United midfielder Donny Van de Beek was keen to make a move away from Old Trafford. But United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly blocked the transfer stating Van de Beek has an important role to play.

Joining Manchester United last year Van de Beek has been only seen as a £35 million bench warmer. Playing mostly as a substitute the dutchman has appeared 36 times for the red devils, scoring once. While this season after United already playing three matches, he is yet to feature in a match.

Following his frustration, because of sitting on the sideline, Van de Beek pushed for a transfer this summer as per his agent. While he also got an option as Everton were keen to sign the dutchman on loan as their new midfield addition. But the United manager has some other plans as he was in no mood to let the dutchman leave.

Will Ole use Van de Beek more this season?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has earlier addressed the less game time situation of Van de Beek in January but is yet to act on it. As the red devil’s manager seems to favor Fred, Scott McTominay and Nemanja Matic ahead of the dutchman. Sitting on the sidelines for much time can affect any player’s mindset and form. And thus, it is happing the same with Donny Van de Beek.

It would have been wise for Solskjaer to let leave Van de Beek on a season-long loan to have his more game time. And in return, he would have got a more developed and experienced midfielder next season. However, we don’t know what the Manchester United manager has planned for Van de Beek but will be looking forward to it.
