Manchester United are planning to recall their loan players in the January transfer window.

A Manchester-based source revealed the management has already made their choices to recall their three important players Hannibal Mejbri, Amad Diallo, and Ethan Laird. They are on loan to other teams but management is still thinking about whether to call them up or focus on their development.

Manchester United recalling loan players in January

The Red Devils had a busy Summer Transfer in 2022 but the team’s performance in the League is quite disappointing. Their defense was poor, the midfield was inconsistent and now after the World Cup, they obviously need fresh legs.

Mejbri and Amad are in Radar

Man United are keeping their eye on the performances of Amad and Mejbri. Mejbri, a central midfielder, who is on loan to Birmingham City, where he has started seven games in 15 matches.

Amad’s movement was speculated and furthermore, Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure has left a place in Manchester United’s forward lineup. Amad is a left-footed Right winger. He has scored 3 goals & provided one assist in 13 Championship games for Sunderland. Other than this, there is no left-footed player in United’s attacking line except Antony.

Ethan Laird loaned at Queens Park Rangers

The 21-year-old Right Back Ethan scored one goal and made 2 assists in 17 appearances. He completed pre-season with Manchester United this season and replaced Wan Bissaka. Bissaka was a regular starter for the red devils in 2021/22, but now, he is set to leave United in January. Laird has impressed Ten Hag and the manager sees him as a potential backup for in-form Diogo Dalot.
Apart from these three players, United is also keeping an eagle eye on the performance of Alvaro Fernandez.

United are ready to sign a forward to compensate for Ronaldo’s controversial departure, but most long-term options are likely out of reach, so the club may have to resort to a short-term target.

Club’s internal sources said that Man United could “push the button” to identify potential mid-season recruits.
