Manchester United player ratings in a draw against Chelsea

tennis player

Here we have the Manchester United player ratings in their hard-fought draw against Chelsea. Manchester United are desperate to recover their season and a 1-1 draw at Stamford is a good result considering their current situation.

As everybody would’ve thought, Chelsea were dominating the game but poor finishing caused the first half to end 0-0. However, in the second-half, United cleared a corner that fell in the legs of Jorginho. The Italian international failed to control the ball and gave it to Jadon Sancho who then calmly slotted the ball behind Edouard Mendy. The Blues were creating enough chances but again poor finishing and some great United defense kept them at bay.

A foul from Aaron Wan-Bissaka that came from a corner gave Chelsea a penalty. Jorginho was able to equalise and restore himself after scoring against De Gea. Chelsea even had the chance to steal the game in the final minutes with a great chance from Rudiger but he hit it over the bar.

Chelsea are still on top of the Premier League table with just one point clear of Manchester City. On the other hand, Manchester United will find themselves happier to have gotten a draw. They were going through a pretty bad form and a draw against Chelsea with Carrick as their manager is a result to take. They are currently 8th on the table below Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United Player Ratings vs Chelsea

David de Gea – 8/10

Made some really good saves against Callum Hudson-Odoi and Antonio Rudiger in the first half. He was again the match saviour for Manchester United.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 4/10

Did well to stop some of the crosses. However, he gave away a penalty which cost United the lead and was again caught out of position similar to his previous games.

Victor Lindelof – 7/10

Took some time to settle and was troubled in the starting few minutes. Nevertheless, got settled in the game and made some good clearances.

Eric Bailly – 7/10

Made an impressive appearance after his disastrous display against Manchester City. He also made some impressive clearances and avoided any costly errors.

Alex Telles – 7/10

Made an error once but was not punished. Moreover, he also did not make any costly errors. Not bad for a first league start since May.

Scott McTominay – 5/10

Failed to cause a big impact neither in defense nor in the attack. Made a crucial block with a nasty blow to his head and was unfortunate to be booked by Anthony Taylor.

Fred – 6/10

Put in an important performance defensively making no mistakes. Was helping in the attack also in the 2nd half. However, he fluffed a late chance to get United the lead.

Nemanja Matic – 7/10

Read the game well and did a good defensive job too. Could have solved a lot of United’s problems if only he was younger.

Jadon Sancho – 7/10

He stole the ball from Jorginho and went on to calmly finish his chance. However, he was unfortunate to be substituted first.

Bruno Fernandes – 3/10
