Here we have the Manchester United player ratings in their draw against Young Boys. United hosted Young Boys at Old Trafford for the last fixture of their group. United had secured the top spot in Group F and qualified for the last 16. However, Young Boys finished bottom of the table and are out of European competitions.
Manchester United took the lead in the 9th minute after a great cross from Luke Shaw was finished acrobatically from Mason Greenwood. However, Young Boys equaled the score with an excellent outside the box top corner finish from Fabian Rieder in the 42nd minute.
Moreover, both the teams had the same number of shots on target. However, United created better chances to score a goal and were left with a draw. Furthermore, United made a lot of changes from the previous match against Crystal Palace. Many players like Tom Heaton, Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage got their first debut for the club.
In addition, many youngsters like Shola Shoretire, Amad Diallo, Anthony Elanga and Teden Mengi got very good minutes under their belt. Aaron Wan-Bissaka had to leave the pitch on a stretcher with his hand and knee injuries.
This was Rangnick’s only the 2nd game at Manchester United and he made many changes as the top spot was secured. He rested his players to face Norwich in the Premier League. Moreover, the players also got the rest they deserved after such a horrific start to the season.

Dean Henderson – 7/10
Did well to keep Young Boys at bay and come off the line at times. However, he had no chance at saving Rieder’s effort.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5/10
Could have done better in preventing the goal. Moreover, he again failed in the attacking department and had to leave on a stretcher.
Eric Bailly – 7/10
Made some crucial blocks and clearances in his style. He was solid throughout the game and another good game for him.
Nemanja Matic – 5/10
Played in the Center-back role and was good in the first 45 minutes. However, he got sloppier and made mistakes in the second half.
Luke Shaw – 6/10
Gave a good cross for Mason Greenwood to finish. Moreover, he still does not look fit enough to start the bigger matches and was taken off in the 61st minute.
Jesse Lingard – 5/10
Was very rarely involved in United’s attack and suffered in the second half. However, he could have got himself an assist if only the chance was finished.
Donny van de Beek – 5/10
His miss pass led to the Young Boys goal which was a horrible mistake in his own half. Had a lot of work to do as he was the only holding midfielder in the team.
Amad Diallo – 6/10
Could have doubled United’s lead but failed to do so. However, he made some good plays and responded to Rangnick’s instructions.
Juan Mata -5/10
He also had the chance to double United’s lead but even he could not do it. Moreover, he started only his second match of this season.
Mason Greenwood – 8/10
Put the ball in the back of the net with a great acrobatic finish. Further, he also did good work in the game of providing with good passes and pressing
Anthony Elanga – 5/10
Was not very much visible in the first half. However, he started the second half great but failed to finish an easy one-on-one chance.

Made a very crucial block to stop the opposition from scoring.
Shola Shoretire – 5/10
Struggled to influence the game got himself a yellow card.

Heaton made his first competitive United debut after 20 years.
