Manchester United set for an ultimate overhaul under Erik Ten Hag

Manchester United are set for a frenzied summer under their newly appointed manager Erik Ten Hag.

Manchester United are currently having a season that they would very well want to forget. With former United player Gary Neville declaring it to be an ‘all-time low’ in his 42 years of watching Manchester United play. Moreover, United are without a trophy for 5 years now and this season too would be no different.

A revolution in Manchester United under Erik Ten Hag

With the team performing so badly under their interim manager, things needed a change. Erik is set to be the bearer of that change. Manchester Evening news have hinted at over a dozen players being laid off. Fresh faces are set to be inducted under the new manager.

With a big blow to the United fans, Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to leave- halfway into his contract. Moreover, Edinson Cavani and Jesse Lingard will be all out of contract at the end of this season. On the other hand, star midfielder Paul Pogba was seen struggling when he came off the pitch just after 7 minutes in the United-Liverpool clash. Therefore, this could probably be the last time that United fans saw him in the Manchester United shirt.

Manchester Evening News also stated how Ralf Rangnick has hinted at 10 new players joining in the forthcoming months. However, it will be interesting to see how these 10 players can solve the impending problem of United in the positions of a striker, a defensive midfielder, and a right back.

However, the interim manager has also given the reason for this ultimate overhaul. He says,

”The team needs a rebuild, not because some players have to go but quite a few have no contracts anymore.” “Their contracts are expiring, then for me it’s clear there will be six, seven, eight, maybe 10 new players”.

Therefore, we could very well understand that the overhaul is being done out of necessity.
