Manchester United target Girona Defender

Manchester United

Manchester United are considering a move for Girona defender Miguel Gutierrez this summer. After a miraculous season Girona qualified for Champions League next season and gave Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona a run for their money in the title race. Manchester United target their star defender Miguel Gutierrez after impressive performances this season.

Gutierrez has grabbed one goal, with six assists coming from left-back. He is considered to be a great signing following Luke Shaw’s injury with no proper replacement. Manchester United who are struggling at the back this season can really help from the services of Girona’s left back.

After investment from Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS Group was finalised, Gutierrez is named as a potential signing – possibly the first under Jim Ratcliffe. Manchester United will face competition for the signature of Miguel from various clubs. Gutierrez remains under contract with Girona until 2027.

Interest from the Premier League is said to be rife in Gutierrez, 22, following a breakthrough campaign. in which he has made 30 appearances for the plucky La Liga contenders. Girona have defied the odds this season. They are likely to finish third after challenging El Classico rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona. However following this great season Girona may find it difficult to keep their star players.

Next season as Girona are playing in the Champions League they will expect their key players to stay. It will be a big challenge for the club. Players like Daley Blind, Eric Garcia, Yan Couto will also be expected to stay next season for the Champion League campaign. Girona’s run is being considered as a wonder run that will be hard to replicate next season. Barcelona and Real Madrid will look to reinforce their squad next season to stay more competitive.
