Former Chelsea and Aston Villa forward Tony Cascarino has tipped Manchester United that Marcelo Bielsa would be a good appointment for them. He suggests so because Bielsa likes to think of his job on a yearly basis and not particularly long-term. This helps him develop his team very quickly compared to other managers and clubs.

Marcelo Bielsa is widely regarded as one of the best managers and has inspired many world-class managers. Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino are fans of Bielsa’s ideologies and coaching methods. Just this shows how much of an impact Bielsa has made on the footballing world. The Argentine is respected for the kind of football his teams play.

Manchester United had to sack Ole Gunnar Solskajer after a very poor run of results at the start of the season. They appointed Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager till the end of the season. Although there has been some improvement, United can’t seem to shake off their poor run of results even under the German philosopher.

The question remains for the Red Devils, who will be their next permanent manager. Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag are the two frontrunners to take over at Old Trafford. However, Tony Cascarino has suggested United that Marcelo Bielsa is also an option. Nevertheless, there is no speculation about the hot seat at Manchester United at the moment.

Why Manchester United should look at more options other than Marcelo Bielsa?

There is no doubt that Marcelo Bielsa is one of the most influential in the world of football. However, he has had his share of criticism during his career. Some do not like Bielsa as he has not won any major titles in the years he has managed a football club. However, he has laid the foundation for many clubs to develop and has stabilized them to survive in the competitive world.

Manchester United have to be very careful of their decisions in the coming years. Appointing a new manager is one of the most important decisions United will have to make. They need a manager who will deliver success in the long term while also providing an exciting model of football. Pochettino and Ten Hag are prime candidates as they have shown that they are capable of doing that.

Whereas Bielsa does not exactly deliver sustained growth or guaranteed success. His philosophy has as many cons as many as pros. The attacking football he plays makes his team vulnerable at the back and the aggressive football can have an impact on his players. Some players may not like training under him because of intense training sessions.

Another reason why Bielsa couldn’t take the job at United is the dangerous rivalry between the two clubs. Some Leeds fans might get an extra step in expressing their hatred if Bielsa does take up the job at Old Trafford. Moreover, United could have better options by the end of the season as rumors about Real Madrid possibly replacing Ancelotti and Atletico Madrid’s poor performances has questioned Diego Simeone’s position.
