The T20 World Cup is breathing over the shoulders. And who knows, if for India will sweep away all the dirt from the previous season! Since the last T-20 World Cup, a lot of things have changed overnight. Virat Kohli wont be donning the blues as the captain. Ravi Shastri took off his coach role and has lifed the microphone again as the commentator. Rohit Sharma now took the crown of skipper. Its Rahul Dravid serving as the coach. If the Dravid- Sharma duo got any gift, it should undoubtedly be the comeback of Bhuvneshwar Kumar!

When it almost sure that Bhuvi is lost, that bloke shattered all those assumptions. The package that appeared in the name of Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a complete different one! Since the T20 World Cup last year, Bhuvi bagged 20 scalps in just 15 matches for India. His best has been 4/13 against South Africa in Vizag.

While speaking to Sports 18’s show “Sports over the top”, former Indian player Sanjay Manjrekar said,

“Bhuvneshwar Kumar recently gave an interview, and he is at his peak at the moment. Eighteen months back, we thought he may not have an international career. But he has bounced back superbly and is a certainty to make the T20 world cup squad.”

Bhuvneshwar Kumar took no Rest

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s fitness issues aren’t new to anyone. But after dealing those, it looks like the drought has almost ended for Bhuvi. But his vicious in and outswingers blended with pace have stumped out all those negative possibilities. Bhuvi has been India’s most dangerous weapon against the opponents.

However, unlike many senior India players, Bhuvi hasn’t opted for breaks. Manjrekar feels, this has worked as a blessing behind his stellar performances. He said,

“Bhuvneshwar Kumar clearly has said like it is with a lot of players when you’re going through a rut, the best way to come out of the rut is by playing. So hopefully that will happen soon.”

The Bench Strength

Since Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid took their respective charge, Indian Men’s cricket team has a number of changes. A lot of those were impressive indeed. Shubman Gill did made his mark in the opening slot, though his strike rate has been a bit concerning to many pundits. Ishan Kishan has worked pretty well with Rohit Sharma. The management has been testing the the opening pair a lot. Rishabh Pant was dragged up there from fourth, so was Suryakumar Yadav.

Arshdeep Singh is the most shining name with the ball, along with Ravi Bishnoi. However, the name that hammers the head is Dinesh Kartik- his comeback to the Internationals after such a long time! Incredible it is! It won’t be too odd to say that Kartik us already in the squad!
