Mason Mount set to be offered an impressive new contract

It is being reported that Chelsea are prepared to make their star youngster Mason Mount the highest-paid player in the club. The 23-year-old is currently earning £80,000 per week. Moreover, his contract is set to expire at the end of June in 2024.

The imposition of sanctions by the British government has restricted Chelsea from making any transfers. However, the Premier League has cleared the takeover by Todd Boehly and therefore, these restrictions are soon to be lifted.

The Blues considers the player a highly valued player. Therefore, they are planning to offer Mount a new contract which could come with a pay raise. The talented youngster has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester City. This new deal could lead to him pocketing double the amount that he currently is earning at the club. Mount has been very important in Thomas Tuchel’s scheme of things this season. In the 53 appearances that he made for the club, he scored 13 times and made 16 assists overall.

However, inews reports that Mount is well focused on continuing his career at Chelsea under the new owners. He wants to commit to a long-term future at the Stamford Bridge.

Mount is thought of to be in a perfect age to be part of the buildup under the new owners. Therefore, the management would be very lucky if they could secure his signature for the long term early on. Moreover, those in the knowhow have stated that Mount is intensely dedicated to his gameplay. It is also understood that he wants to develop under the mentorship of Tuchel.
